Candied Oats & Nuts

Ingredients Servings: 7-8

  • 1 cup walnuts or pecans

  • 1 cup rolled oats

  • 1 tablespoon oil

  • ¼ cup sugar

  • 2 tablespoons honey

  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 325F degrees.

  • Get out a baking sheet and line it with foil. Spread a little bit of the oil onto the foil.

  • Get out a medium saucepan and add the oil, cinnamon, sugar, and salt. Stir. Bring the mixture to a boil using high heat.

  • Add the oats and nuts. Continue to cook mixture and continuously stir for 2 minutes.

  • Add the mixture to the foil on the baking sheet. Make sure to spread it thinly and do not have any large clumps.

  • Bake the mixture for 6-7 minutes. Flip mixture. Bake for another 6-7 minutes.

  • Take out of oven and let mixture cool for about 15 minutes. Break into pieces and serve.
